A tower defence game that puts you inside the defence machine. I was the only artist on the project: every tower, enemy, explosion, menu and marketing frame came out of one pair of hands.
Tower Strike '89 fuses tower defence with an arcade shooter: you place and customise towers, then snap directly into them to fight alongside your own defences. That single mechanic drove every art decision — the player has to read tower state, enemy threat and their own position in the same glance, at arcade speed.
I built the game's entire visual identity from the ground up: a neon CRT palette that keeps hostile and friendly elements separable at a distance, pixel art that survives both a 1440p monitor and a Steam Deck screen, and a readable hierarchy of VFX so that twelve simultaneous explosions never bury the information the player needs.
Beyond in-game art I produced the animation, UI/UX, the Steam store page and the launch trailer — including its edit, pacing and typography.
